Expression of Interest (EOI) – Opening Soon

Greetings Community Members,

We would like to inform you that Hospitality House Refugee Ministry Inc. will open the portal for Expressions of Interest (EOI) for family-linked refugee sponsorships from Friday, April 10, 2026, to Monday, April 20, 2026.

We are sharing this information in advance so community members can prepare and thoughtfully spread the word, ensuring that all interested individuals have the opportunity to participate in the lottery draw.

Selection process

To ensure fairness, a lottery system will be used to randomly select applicants, who will then be invited to submit full sponsorship applications.

🔔 Only those selected through the lottery will be contacted.

Important IRCC updates

We also wish to highlight important recent changes from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). This year, IRCC has:

  • Reduced SAH spaces by 54%, leaving us with very limited spots to allocate
  • Paused applications from both Group of Five and Community Sponsors
⚠️ These developments will have a significant and immediate impact on the number of applications that can be processed this year. We encourage everyone to be mindful of these constraints so that expectations can be managed and our collective efforts remain focused and unified.

Despite these challenges, we remain committed to our shared mission of supporting and protecting refugees. We encourage our community to continue coming together in compassion and solidarity to uphold the values of private sponsorship.
